In case you missed it, Instagram Photo maps will no longer be available. A notification reminder popped up on my Instagram profile saying that as of December 2nd, it will no longer exist.
Geotags for locations aren’t disappearing, though. You’ll still be able to click on a location tag in an individual post and see other photos from that location as well as a small map.
But when you go to someone else’s profile, there will no longer be a separate tab to view all their geo-tagged photos on a world map.
This has been a slow and gradual move. The feature has been less and less accessible over the past year or so.
I’m actually quite disappointed by the removal of this feature. It’s one of the features that makes Instagram great, in my opinion. It let me keep track of where I’ve been and what photos I’ve taken in which countries.
