Facebook announced that businesses on the social network can now link their Facebook, Messenger and Instagram accounts and receive all messages from those social networks in a single inbox.
Facebook said that Pages users can start the process by clicking the messaging icon at the bottom of their pages in the app and navigating to the Instagram tab, where they will be prompted to log in, adding that brands with Facebook and Instagram accounts that are already connected via Instagram ads will automatically receive the update, and nothing that interactions with Messenger are already included in pages’ inboxes.
Facebook says that another way that they help you serve your customers is by providing an easy way to see basic information about the people who interact with your business. Simply tap the person’s name to see their publicly available profile, as well as their previous interactions with your business, then use that knowledge to personalise your communications with them. This feature is currently available for all Facebook interactions in the inbox.
This is what early users have said about the single inbox:
The new and improved inbox gives me a quick snapshot of all media channels in an organised and succinct way. It cuts down the time I spend on administrative tasks by around 12%, and it allows me to provide a more detailed and personalised service.
